Artistic Director
Tess Orozco

Tess Orozco has been undeterred in her choral goals for the last twenty years. Her singing experience began with the Seattle Girls' Choir, starting in its preparatory choir and continuing through all the levels until she graduated from the advanced choir in Rome, Italy. She holds a Bachelor's of Music in piano from Cornish College of the Arts where she studied with Dr. Peter Mack. During college she continued working with SGC as an accompanist, and soon after became the conductor of its two youngest choirs, Dolcine and Dolcinettes. She now directs Allegra, SGC's fourth level. This is Tess' seventh year in front of Ancora. She is unfailingly proud and grateful to work with such dedicated women who are committed to making a place for music in their busy lives. She enjoys the dynamics of combining SGC alumnae with talented musicians from the greater Puget Sound area to create the unique sound and experience that is Ancora. Tess teaches piano, voice, and theory privately from her music studio in Ballard. She strives to cultivate ongoing musical excellence with her women while bringing up new generations fluent in the choral art.
